Lemurs 'Learn'

In March 2008 National Geographic reported that in studies at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, Ring-tailed Lemurs were proven to have 'impressive numerical abilities'. Duke's Elizabeth Brannon reports that the animals will repeat arbitrary sequences on a touch screen with their noses and can discriminate between quantities. "They'll do hundreds of trials" she explained, and they are getting better over time as they "learn how to learn".
